Aerial Yoga

Aerial yoga is a hybrid yoga type developed in 2014 by combining traditional yoga poses, pilates and dancing with the use of a hammock.

Aerial yoga has not been studied with clinical trials. Anecdotal evidence indicates that by facilitating the flexion and stretch of the entire body during exercise, the muscles and joints will be strengthened and rehabilitated, and the spine decompressed as the body hangs freely. In general, and aerial yoga in particular is promoted as emotional benefits, psychological and spiritual health.

Aerial yoga in many different variations: Aerial Hatha, Vinyase Aerial, Aerial Therapeutics, Aerial Restorer and Yin, Aerial Couple, Aerial Meditation, Aerial Dance, etc.
The course is designed to prepare it to create its own flying sequences and teach them safely to others.

We dedicate this course to students at all levels that would love to fly, and to study this beautiful and developing yoga style.

Aerial yoga, also called “Antigravity Yoga” is a combination of traditional yoga poses, pilates and dancing with the use of special yoga hammocks.

You can practice in two ways:

– “Yang” (active, dynamic and strengthening)
– “Yin” (passive, therapeutic, meditative, restorative)

Being suspended in the air releases the tension of the bones and muscles, increasing flexibility and deepening our practice.

Yang aerial yoga strengthens the punctuation muscles and increases the flexibility of the spine, hips and shoulders, while Yin’s aerial yoga is therapeutic and nutritious.

Yoga against gravity requires a special type of hammock that can support up to 300 kilos of weight. we use a comfortable silk slings of 5 meters long. The hammock acts as a swing or a soft trapeze, supporting the hips for the curves forward and the curves of back, shoulders and legs for investments, and add support for many Hatha Yoga poses. Yoga postures that some people find it difficult to practice on the ground (such as Handstandstand or Scorpio), can be easier to achieve in air using hammock, you can also add variety and challenge to training.

Aerial yoga has beautiful restorative aspects, meditation and passive relaxation poses performed in hammocks allow to connect deeply with a Yin part of practice.
